Safeguarding

WASP are committed to promoting safeguarding and protecting children, young people and any vulnerable adults who are involved in sport, and consider it in everything we do. WASP works with the NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Unit, the Ann Craft Trust, National Governing Bodies of Sport, UK Coaching and other organisations to support you in developing and promoting best practice and responding to concerns.

Steve Boocock (CEO and Designated Safeguarding Officer, WASP)

Our Safeguarding Policies

WASP also works within the Local Safeguarding Children Board's guidance. For more information on this visit the Safeguarding Vulnerable Peoples Partnership for Wiltshire, and for Swindon the Swindon Safeguarding Partnership.

WASP has achieved the advanced level of the Standards for Safeguarding and Protecting Children in Sport and is currently maintaining and embedding these standards by adopting the national safeguarding framework

Get in Touch

WASP has recently achieved the Ann Craft Trust Safeguarding Adults in Sport Framework meaning that WASP is meeting the essential requirements of all the framework criteria.

  • If you are a club or sports organisation, and need help in creating your own Safeguarding Policy or good practice guidance we can provide support in developing these.
  • If you are a coach we can provide information on and access to the right safeguarding course for you.
  • If you are a young person or parent with a concern we can provide information on what steps to take to report these.

Steve is the designated Safeguarding Officer for WASP. If you have any concerns please get in touch.
