According to the Active Lives Survey 31% of adults aged 67-74, and 33% of adults aged 75-84 in Wiltshire are inactive. A recent report from Age UK shows that levels of inactivity among older adults have increased significantly due to Covid-19.
While some older people have used the last few months as an opportunity to do more exercise and improve their fitness, our research suggests that many have seen their health deteriorate in the face of isolation and reduced opportunities to socialise and be physically active – sometimes drastically so.
Our Work - Ageing Well
Ageing Well is one of the three key areas embedded in our new strategy. We want to ensure that older people can access opportunities to be physically active across the county, improving physical and mental wellbeing. In order to achieve this, we work with a variety of partners.
