Steve Boocock

Chief Executive Officer

As Lead Officer and Board Member for WASP, I have overall responsibility for leading on the strategic direction, governance and operations of the organisation. A key element to my role is working with other organisations across the county as well as nationally to promote the ethos of sport for all. I take the lead responsibility for facilities and investment projects along with being the designated lead for Safeguarding. I also contribute to the work of the National Safeguarding in Sport Strategy Group and am a member of Sports Resolutions National Safeguarding Panel.

Personal Interests: Outside of WASP I am a keen cyclist both on and off road and I coach swimming with one of our local clubs.

Steve Neale

Steve Neale

Operations Director

I oversee the management of all projects, partner collaborations and business support operations of WASP. I also contribute to the strategic planning of the organisation, attend WASP Board and am well experienced in providing facilities investment and funding advice. I deputise for the Chief Executive Officer in his absence and bring a wealth of experience to WASP having previously fulfilled roles at a strategic head of service level in local government and having worked for a national governing body of sport.

Personal interests: I enjoy running and cycling taking on numerous challenges in both to raise money for charity; avid football and boxing fan; performing arts and film; and reading history.

Dominique Oughton

Dominique Oughton

Health and Wellbeing Manager

It is my role to implement and monitor a Health & Wellbeing Strategy for the county, engaging with relevant strategic partners to support shared outcomes. The Strategy will support and develop health and wellbeing activities and physical activity programmes to tackle inequalities based on both individual and community need. I also lead a number of community development and engagement projects such as in our role as Local Strategic Partner for the Get Out Get Active programme, Age UK Wiltshire, Park Yoga, and Sport England's Together Fund to help community organisations reduce the negative impact of coronavirus and the widening of the inequalities in sport and physical activity. I am currently completing a Foundation Degree in Leadership & Management.

Personal interests: keeping active by running, gym, and paddleboarding. I love encouraging my boys to be active and providing them with lots of different activities and opportunities. We enjoy long family walks and swimming together.

I lead on the Wiltshire and Swindon School Games Programme.

Working days: Tuesday to Thursday

Personal interests: swimming, spinning and yoga; walks in the countryside with my dog; attending Bath Rugby games with my season ticket.

I am the Workforce Lead for WASP comprising Coaching, Volunteering, Club and Professional Workforce services and support.

Personal interests: as a retired rugby player I am now involved in coaching at club and county level. With a young active family most weekends are spent on the side of a rugby pitch or as a taxi driver to other clubs or activities!

Project Officer

I am working to sustain the momentum gained from the successful Beat the Street programme in Swindon and Trowbridge. I engage with community groups, councils and schools in Swindon to help partners inform future programmes and interventions in the area.

Personal interests: outside of work I am a member of local church, helping to run the Sunday school sessions. Most of my spare time is general fun with the family, going on bike rides, garden football, building dens or just perfecting my dad dancing.

I lead on the delivery of the Active Communities Programme (ACP).

Working days: Tuesday to Thursday.

Personal interests: coaching and playing badminton; watching my kids being active and playing sport; and following the few highs and many lows of THFC.

Marketing and Insight Officer

I manage and monitor the marketing and communications strategy for WASP and am the project lead for the Active Lives Survey (Children and Young People).

Personal interests: Most of my free time is spent either watching or playing sport. I play netball for my local team and regularly attend live events in sports including rugby, tennis, netball, and cricket.

Personal Interests: In my spare time I enjoy playing netball and keeping active exploring Wiltshire with family and friends.

I am responsible for all the financial and business administration for WASP.

Working days: Tuesday- Friday.

Personal Interests: white water and recreational kayaking and canoeing; volunteering at the local canoe club; photography, particularly historical photographic techniques of which I exhibit at galleries.

Development Assistant

I am WASP's 6th Placement Year Student from the University of Bath. I lead on the Active Lives Survey and provide support to the team across a variety of projects, including the School Games. I am currently in my third year of studying Sport and Exercise Science.

Personal Interests: I enjoy keeping active by playing netball for my local club and using the gym. I also enjoy taking my dog out for walks around Wiltshire.
