Senior Games Co-ordinator
Wiltshire and Swindon Sport (WASP) has an exciting new position to join our team as a Senior Games Co-ordinator.
Working in partnership with Wiltshire Council Public Health team, this is a brand-new role that will expand the Senior Games pilot project which took place earlier this year. The Senior Games Co-ordinator will add capacity and expertise to help promote active living, wellbeing, and quality of life among older people in care homes. The role will focus on increasing physical activity levels, improving physical function, and contributing to active ageing and individuals living longer better. They will work closely with Wiltshire Council Public Health team and Wiltshire Care Forum to deliver the Senior Games project.
The new role will help to increase physical activity within care homes on a regular basis, increase the health and wellbeing of residents within care homes, enable care homes to continue sustainable physical activity post the project and provide meaningful physical activity opportunities for care home residents.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion of working with older people, and who can promote the many benefits associated with physical activity.
This post will involve significant travel around Wiltshire, with flexibility around working from home and other bases.

Salary : £36,500 (plus pension contribution)
Hours: 37 hours per week - Full Time
Responsible to: Health & Wellbeing Manager
Responsible for: Workforce delivering on the project

Sport Welfare Officer
Wiltshire and Swindon Sport (WASP) has an exciting new position to join our team as our Sport Welfare Officer.
This role is part of a new, national network of Sport Welfare Officers that is being created across England to support National Governing Bodies (NGBs) and their local clubs to promote good practice and safe sport for children, young people, and adults on a local level. The Sport Welfare Officers will add capacity and expertise to the existing safeguarding work of NGBs and Active Partnerships. They will help further understand safeguarding in local clubs e.g., how policies and procedures are cascaded and help share good practice. They will work closely with other Sport Welfare Officers, National Governing Bodies, local safeguarding organisations and others; to connect people working on welfare and safeguarding, both inside and outside of sport.
The role will contribute to the establishment of good welfare practice with safer club environments for participants and sports clubs, moving from welfare compliance to effective safeguarding culture. These safer club environments will lead to inclusive, improved experiences for children and adults, narrowed inequalities and consistent, best practice across sport.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual with an excellent knowledge of safeguarding and a passion for safeguarding children and adults, so their needs, expectations, and safety come first.
We are looking for someone who can work with local stakeholders to promote best practice and provide training to complement what is already being delivered across Wiltshire and Swindon. To visit clubs and to connect people to help raise awareness with parents, carers, and participants.
This post will involve some flexibility around working from home and other bases, with travel around Wiltshire and Swindon expected as well as some regional and national travel.
The network is being funded by Sport England using National Lottery grants until 2027.
Salary £ 32,250
37 hours per week - Full Time
Annual leave of 23 days, plus Bank Holidays.
