British Wheelchair Athletic Association

The British Wheelchair Athletic Association (BWAA) provides support and expertise to athletes and coaches in seated throws to enable athletes to achieve their best.

The BWAA are based at Stoke Mandeville Stadium and hold training camps throughout the winter months on the second weekend of the month.

They have qualified, experienced coaches in attendance at every training weekend.

Take part in March: Junior and Primary Camps coming up

Our Junior and Primary Sports Camps have spaces available for three dates this March both here at Stoke Mandeville and in London (Redbridge and Sutton). They offer disabled young people coaching in a wide variety of sports in a safe and friendly environment and activity is adapted to suit your abilities.

Tennis Foundation Disability Camps arrive for 2017

In 2017 the Tennis Foundation is running a number of camps and Come and Try events in order to encourage more disabled people to try out tennis and reap the numerous benefits that the sport can bring.

If you have a physical impairment and want to get involved in wheelchair tennis then the Come and Try sessions are perfect for you! A brilliant way for you to get started in the sport these sessions are for new players who have never tried the sport before!

British Cycling Disability Hubs launched across the country

British Cycling has launched disability cycling hubs across the country to improve access to the sport for people with a disability and ensure that those wanting to improve their cycling performance receive the support they need.

There are currently hubs in Manchester, Bath, Nottingham, York, Kent and the birthplace of the Paralympic movement, Stoke Mandeville Stadium in Aylesbury.

Enter the British Para Table Tennis nationals

The British Para Table Tennis nationals will be taking place on the 8th and 9th of April in Grantham. Click here to find entry forms on the British Para Table Tennis website.

The closing date is the 25th March. This event will showcase some of the best of British Para Table Tennis, with players including medal winners Will Bayley MBE and Rob Davies MBE.

Powering disability cycling in the UK

Handcycling UK (HCAUK) is a small charity that strives to provide a route into disability cycling for everyone.

They support handcycle racing in Britain and in Europe. British handcyclists are pioneering downhill and other scary off-road activities and HCAUK organise their own longer distance road riding events where a group of hand cyclists will meet up for a ride.

Regular taster days are held on the track here at Stoke Mandeville Stadium. Both equipment and accommodation is available where needed.
